I saw this weird fish in a South Bali fish market.
Can anyone ID it further than "armoured searobin family".
I know Indo fish markets sometimes come up with undescribed species, so I thought I post here even though its not an underwater shot.
The fisherman said he caught it in only 30M deep water.
Thanks a lot.
Armoured searobin? At fish market.

That's something you certainly wouldn't see on a shore dive. It's an Armoured Gurnard, family Peristediidae, genus Satyrichthys

From what I've read it should be found deeper than 30m, that plus the cloudy eyes make me wonder if it was sick?
Cheers,
Jim.
