My buddy, Roger Horrocks, was down here with us chasing fish and brought along a, how should I put it... an interesting 3D rig. He is under NDA and has sworn me to secrecy. I've seen him struggle with the housing , which was forced on him by the production company and he did an awesome job despite being severely held back by the issue of "sea monkeys!" In fact he got the best shots of this year's action of anyone.

I can't post any of the pics out of respect to Roger but a public domain shot of the housing being handed to him at sea is fair game:

Anyone into housing design will notice the design. :) Sorry Rog!

It is VERY far from the Patima housing, which I've used. :)

Just goes to show, as long as it does the job it doesn't matter if it looks like a reused piece of an AirCon unit...

Patima rig for the XF105 is much much bigger than that.

XF105 is very unforgiving in low light due to the 1/3 inch sensor. One very useful feature is the Optical Axis shift for the zoom lens. Very handy for lens calibration and locking onto same subject focal point. I would love to have this technology on other systems with larger sensors.

Drew any chance you have a peek of the footage from this rig?

cheers
