Congrats on the nice images!
I saw the photos that you made in Sweden with the minidome+60mm and remember that you were saying that you might try it out in Lembeh, if you did, how did it go?

Hi Morten

It did go well to use the 60 behind the Zen. I did buy the dedicated 60 macro port, because it is smaller, it gives more enlargement, I can use my SubSee with it, and, maybe primarily, I would without doubt have scratched the Zen sooner or later. But I do think that the Zen and the 60 is a good option if one for some reason has to use it. Wonderful shots, but I would not get to close to the banded snake. It is the second deadliest poison snake.

Sure eyu, care should probably be taken not to mess around with them to much. I am not really sure about the "second deadliest" snake position of the kraits though, but they have a very potent venom, that is true. However, banded kraits are extremely docile and the ones I have met, which is a fair number by now, have not been aggressive at all. Being a snake with a very potent venom is only a problem if the snake actually envenomates people, but, as far as I know, the only bites recorded by banded kraits are on fishermen entangling the krait from nets. Other sea snakes differ markedly though, so this should not be taken as a general rule for sea snakes. And, of course, my experiences may differ from others, but in my opinion, banded kraits are just about the least deadly snake you can encounter. But then again, at times I work with far more problematic snakes than kraits, so my perception of risk could be seriously skewed. At least that is what my wife tells me quite often .

Well, Simon, not being able to see the attached "clever chap" picture, I am not really sure if I should say thanks! However, as your love of xeno´s is well known in the Lembeh community, I do apologize for not posting a couple of pics of those magnificent creatures. Here they are:

It was a nice emoticon, no need to worry! Bosses are a pain eh? Fortunately my boss is being very supportive of my new camera purchases so im happy!

I did 2 dives today, thankfully no Xeno Crabs! (Harlequin, Bumblebee, Bluering, Falmboyant, Snake Eels and other cool things for you to think about in the cold!).

Well, besides myself bossing over myself in my own company, sending me on trips, letting me buy cool company stuff and such, the bosses in my surrounding are a bit more problematic, claiming that I should show some responsibility for children, house, wife, and, most disturbing, my day job!

I still have a bunch of pics to fix from my visit, so the gloom outdoors can actually be forgotten now and then. Of to the Red Sea in a couple of weeks, but after that there are eons of no diving coming up. Mid February is then the first escape. That should just maybe be fixed with a quick January trip!

So how is the new stuff! Any pics of the cool things?

Spotfin. The dark ring with a light edge is the character to look for.

Edit: I could have frased that better! The dark spot with the light ring is what I meant!
