I remember when this incident happened, I commented on this forum that I thought the Ady Gil incident was an irresponsible scam

Or it's another PR stunt to raise awareness since it's Jan and the fleet is out there again? You know what they say about publicity! What really shocks me is that you read TMZ! :)

I think that was the link from CNN or whatever site I was reading. No idea what TMZ is.
