I am considering getting a GoPro 3. Not certain whether the silver or black model.
If I was shooting 1080/60 non-stop, how long would the battery last? Any one have experiences with anything similar to share?

In essence the silver is the same as the hero2 with less battery autonomy

Yea, I know that part. What battery life can I expect while taking video with the black? A nice test already posted on WP for just keeping the units on without taking video.

As far as I can see from some youtube the black has less than 1 hour of continuous shooting check micbergsma channel there are many useful comparisons

PT = Protune
These are direct/immediate drain test with no standing by.
HD3 Black recording non stop at 28C water temp with LCD BacPac, recording 2.7k Protune + Cam Raw, I can confirm maximum is no more than 50-56 minutes. I got all GoPro series, HD960 , HD1, HD2, All of HD3 too. HD3 at high res is indeed a battery sucker but nothing is free, 45 mbps data rate is tough on the battery drain. Best practice is, change battery at each and every dive.
Marty the Mod is a diver too.

I have used my Hero3 black on three cold water 45degree F dives now, all with the LCD back installed.
THe first two dives the battery lasted on average appx 45-50 minutes run time with the LCD back running.
I recently did a dive shooting time lapse underwater, and I made sure to turn off the LCD back most of the time, and the camera ran for appx 1.25 hours total. In this mode it was taking a still image every 5 seconds.
