Hi everyone,

I'm going on a liveaboard trip in the Bahamas next month and I have a question about what to take with me.

I recently bought an Aquatica 5D Mark III rig and figured I'd save a little cash by only getting set up for macro. I'm using the EF 100 2.8 USM. Now I'm thinking that this might be restrictive for this trip.

What do you think, will I survive shooting only macro or should I scrounge some cash and get the ports for my 16-35?

Hi Scott,

 If you're looking for someone to talk you out of it, you're asking the wrong crowd. Just to be clear, you're asking all of us who have spent thousands of dollars on camera equipment and housings / ports/ strobes/ focus lights/ ....... if you should spend some too?  The short answer; uuuuhhhhhhh, yes.    

 

The long answer;  if you are going to take a 5D Mk III down with that beautiful Aquatica housing, you are going to want to try and capture the WA scenic possibilities sooner or later.  Most probably, about the third day of the trip you're going to wish you had a dome, so uhhh  yes.

I am pretty sure that you would kick yourself when those Sharks are starting to show up, without a WA Setup.
