I just returned from a 10 day trip to Bora Bora. It was my first time shooting UW, and my first time making a concerted effort to ID fish. We encountered a few of these pipefish, which I believe to be Network Pipefish Corythoichthys flavofasciatus. Can anyone confirm this or offer any other suggestions?

Hi Jason,

 

I'd say Yellow-banded Pipefish, Corythoichthys conspicillatus which has recently been separated as a species from C.flavofasciatus a Red Sea/Indian Ocean species.
