Hi folks,

We are in the process of moving the Fin Foundation Images website over to the Zenfolio service and have a draft version up and running.  I'd really appreciate some feedback on the new layout and design.  Please let me know what you think and any improvements you'd recommend before we go live.  I'd appreciate your messing about and see if it works for you.  I've been looking at it too long.

The new site is here; http://finfoundation...s.zenfolio.com/

The old site which is still operational for a few weeks is here  http://finfoundation...es.smugmug.com/  if you'd like to compare.

We have to move due to the high price increase on Smugmug.  Zenfolio also provides a discount for non-profits which helps.

Your thoughts are appreciated,

Cheers,

Steve

Steve:

It looks very nice and I owe you some pictures for sure now.  Nannette is also interested in sharing video but hasn't heard anything back from Shawn

Steve - I like the new look,. The image box in the upper right portion of the page - with the ability to scroll down - is nice. Different than others websites and seems pretty easy to use.  The background leads you to the picture and does not distract from it at all.  Looks well done to me

Thanks Pam,

I just modified a standard template from Zenfolio.  Pretty easy.  Glad you like it.

Cheers,

Steve

Perhaps because my current monitor is getting old, and a bit dark, I have a really hard time with colored fonts on a black background.  I find them very, very hard to read.  In fact, I usually have to "select" the text to highlight it to be able to read it.  So, I'm not a big fan of black backgrounds for web page.  I know that they are currently fashionable, though.

Thanks John, I appreciate the comment.  I have been playing with the font color to see if I can find a blue that is easier to read on the black.  I'm a fan of the grey backgrounds.  Still a work in progress.

Cheers,

Steve
