For CF/WA photos, wich is better, sigma15mmFE + 1,4xTC or Nikon 16-35mm? And Why?

I use the Sigma 15mm FE without a teleconverter behind the Hugyfot Minidome on my D800 and it works very well

as the Sigma focus very near.

there is a report from Alex Mustard here in wetpixel about this specific topic, use the search function. But in short, the sigma 15mm on a full frame sensor is better in combination with a minidome (4-5 inch) since the sigma's closest focusing is much smaller. Eventually you must shave the fixed sunhood of this lense in order to have enough space within the minidome. Thus, it lets you focus an object right on the dome glass...teleconverters are useless for CFWA in this combo.

Nikon D4s, Nikon 16-35 /f4 VR II, 70-180,105mm f/2.8, Subal ND4 housing and ports, 2 Subtronic Fusion (flash and video lights), Sigma 15mm /f2.8, Subal 4" Minidome
