hello every1,

i would like to get some travell advice from somebody experienced in organising trips in phillipines. as i understood, phillies are one of most diverse and interesting diving spots on earth, but it is very difficult to organise some one to two week trip to get the best of them.

so, any advice about what locations are "not to be missed", but in coimbination with rather easy transfer options etc.

in example, im looking for something similar to organising trip to mexico in summer, where most of people put together whale sharks in mujeres, some close cenotes, and classic scuba in cosumel. any similar itinerary in phillipines?

maybe important to say that i am not big fan of macro shooting, more into ambient and wrecks, but two macro dives in combination of 10 dives overall (for sake of ratio) are more then welcome. thanks in advance!!!

I organize trips to the Philippines, plus it helps that I speak Tagalog like a local.  It really depends on the time of year etc.  But for the variety you're after, it's more difficult as you need to pretty much fly back to Manila (or Cebu) to reach the outlying islands.  Whale Sharks are seen in Leyte, Oslob and Donsol, Oslob is the only one where you dive, Donsol has been on the decline and has crappy vis, Leyte is snorkel only but depending on season, the sharks are not at snorkeling depth.  Wrecks are only really seen at 2 spots, Coron and Subic Bay, both requiring flights. For awesome reefs, then Tubbataha and Southern Leyte are your spots to go, for "general" reefs then the entire country has great diving, from Anilao (great for critters), Puerto Galera (same) down through the Visayas like the threshers of Malapascua and there is a wreck there too.

Being a bit more specific and time of travel would help.

cheers

S.

Don't forget that Oslob feeds the whalesharks to gather them. Donsol does not. :)
