We've been working on a few edits for our Scubazoo YouTube channel recently. One thread we're going to develop is the '60 second' style. We'll be posting a new video on YouTube every week featuring either a different location, animal, or theme. This is our first attempt, and an obvious choice given we are based nearby. In the edit queue are Maldives, East Timor, Komodo and a few others. The footage was taken from our stock footage library  and the bulk of it was shot using the outstanding Sony EX1 and Gates housing combination.

It would be great to hear feedback or (constructive) criticism. If anyone has any suggestions for '60 second' themes I'd be happy to hear them. You can subscribe to our channel here. Hope this video brings back good memories for anyone who has been to Sipadan or maybe inspires people to visit for the first time. Best watched in 1080P.

Hi Roger

That's a lot of B'cuddas. Last time I encounter that many was back in the 90's. Great to watch.

Any 4k in the pipeline ;)

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers

Hey David

Thanks for the feedback. We're playing with some of the 4K footage that Simple shot after the dome shoot in July. Unfortunately it was filthy dark and stormy (just our luck) so it doesn't really do the format justice.

Maratua - further west than Sipadan off southern Borneo - now there's a place with lots of barracudas.  Like the Sipadan of old.  So many barracudas that the water below is cloudy with raining barracuda shit.

You can see them at 12:08 on my Marine Parks video: http://www.peterwalk...arineparks.html

Regards

Peter

That is a big school of barracuda! Great shot. Lovely clear water too.

I think the school of jacks is more impressive at Sipadan than the barracuda these days. It's huge and constantly patrolled by white tip reef sharks and GT's. Best part is that they hang in the same place and you don't have to fight the current to film them!
