I've been asked to present a couple of UW photo workshops. I'm wondering what folks use for presentation software...

Basically I want something that can be used both for a "pretty" slideshow, with some sappy music, but also something that can be used for "teaching"... so some text overlay, perhaps an illustration or two...

I use a Macbook Pro... I have Powerpoint and iPhoto already. Someone suggested "Keynote" which is a $20 App from Mac and apparently integrates well with iTunes and iPhoto for importing stuff. It also allows you to stick everything on the Cloud so it could be accessed anywhere and on any of my iGizmos...

My bro uses some stuff called ProShow which looked ok, but it's a Windows app only....

Any thoughts?

Key is ease of use ('cause I'm not that likely to use it if it's a PITA), and cheap!

What about The slideshow module in Adobe LightRoom?

If you want to do teaching then Powerpoint is the way that I would go, for straight slideshows I use both fotomagico and iPhoto.

Canon 7d, Nauticam, Lots of glass, Olympus OMD-EM5, Nauticam, 60 macro, 45 macro, 8 mm fisheye, Inon, S&S, Athena Strobes plus lots of fiddly bits.

You might also look into Prezi - I have seen some really dazzling presentation that used this:

There are some really interesting photography-specific examples on the site:
