I have a trip to Lembeh Straits in September and October 2014 and just got a message from Silk Air that they have dropped the number of days that they are flying from Singapore to Manado and back.  I happened to be flying back to Singapore on one of the days they dropped so had to make changes to all of my flights.  Based on what I found out they are now only flying there on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.  Some of the people in my party had booked through Singapore Air or with a travel agent and they or the agent did not even know there had been changes to the reservations.

If you are headed that way you might want to check with both Silk and Singapore to make sure your flights have not been changed.

I believe that has been the schedule for some time.

Not sure but I just got the message from Silk this Wednesday that my flights had been changed as I was originally booked to leave Manado on a Tuesday and they were going to move my flight to Monday from Manado.  My flights were originally booked in January or February of this year.  I'm thinking this was a recent change as my travel agents did not know that Silk had changed their schedules.

Mike, talked to my travel agent and it looks like they don't change the schedules until late August.

I was flying from Singapore to Manado on a Tuesday in October, and last week was informed my flight was bumped back to Wednesday.  I rescheduled so I could get there on Tuesday, but more expensive.  Fly from Singapore to Jakarta on Singapore Airlines, then wait in Jakarta for 6 hours, then fly Garuda Airlines from Jakarta to Manado.  Very unhappy with the extra money and inconvenience they have caused me, but nothing to be done.

I know the feeling it has just cost me a fortune extra in hotels for a trip to Raja Ampat. The things we do for diving!

Doug, I believe MI has had the M,W,F,S schedule for a while now for SIN-MDC.  The MDC-SIN Tues flight has been cancelled as of Aug 10th 2014 (I think).  You shouldn't have been booked on MI on a SIN-MDC on a Tues anyhow.
Liveaboards should schedule their departures based on flights.  It shouldn't cost any more than before, other than fuel prices and profiteering! :)

Liveaboards should schedule their departures based on flights. :)

Well...

... liveaboards often schedule based on American travel arrangements and Europeans often have to make peculiar connections and stay in odd places overnight!

I have a trip planned at about the same time, and I haven't bought my ticket yet. Thanks for posting this. I was planning on leaving on a Tuesday, but now I may have to stay another day :)
