Marine life of the Southern Atolls in Maldives.
Shot on Canon 70D in Nauticam housing.
Lens using Canon 10-22mm, Sigma 8-16mm behind 9' dome.

Most of time I was using continuous AF and it's works well. The 70D is probably the first Canon DSLR with a usable continuous aufo focus system on video mode, it's smooth and doesn't jerk or hunt.
Shot 1080P, All-I, Standard profile (1,-3,-2,0). No color grading or sharpening in post.

Thanks,
EJ.

Masterfull as usual EJ!

I am planning to house my 70D but still undecided on Aquatica or Nauticam. What has your experience been with the Nauticam housing?

Did you do any macro video? Wondering how well the autofocus works for that?

Cheers, Andre

Unfortunately, I didn't bring macro lens this trip. Hopefully I can try it underwater soon.

Nauticam 70D housing works flawlessly, I really like how they did Q & Playback buttons (lever on the left side of housing) and the "Multi Controller Pad" which 1st for their canon housing. Actually, I feel better then my 5D3 housing.

Thanks,

What a wonderful video, thanks for showing it.

I just recently got my new Canon D70, just learning how to use it, and haven´t yet taken it underwater. Plans are Egypt (Tiran, Brothers) in July and Maldives (northern atolls) in early September.

I really am interested in your video settings in D70. By standard profile (1,-3,-2,0), did you mean you had sharpness 1, contrast -3, saturation -2 and  color tone 0? AF FlexiZone with servo? AWB/Manual? Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Mjol

Yes, I set picture profile as described above, Servo AF, FlexiZone - Single, Manual WB (except night time, set to daylight).

I assigned AF-ON button as a AF-STOP for temporary stop the servo AF during the recording If I needed.

ISO were 160, 320, 640... (multiples of ISO 160).

Thanks,

EJ.
