So, I'm not sure what this critter is... the guide said decorator crab but the eyes don't look right. It was as big as my hand, at least. Taken in Komodo National Park, Indonesia.

 

Looks like Gizmo from the movie Gremlins!  :lightbulb:

Fascinating image. I agree the eyes and mouth look much more like a vertebrate than a crustacean. Did it move?

I suspect this is Zalasius dromiaeformis, called Shaggy Crab in some ID books.

Definitely not a decorator crab! Shaggy crab seems to be right.
