Has anyone been to Sipidan and Mabul? I am planning to go there for a few days next month and wondered if anyone had any advice/info they could share re accomodations and/or diving.

You're going to love the diving. Sipidan is a small island, and the accomodations on Sipidan are actually kind of a dump. If you are the kind of diver who doesn't care where they stay if the diving is good, stay on Sipidan. There is Mabul dive resort on Mabul, which is roomier, nicer and about the same price. Mabul is about a 20 min boat ride away from Sipidan. If you've got some $$$ to blow, check out Sipidan Water Village which, despite the name, is actually on Mabul, not Sipidan. The rooms are on piers over the water, and are palatial. Great food, first class equipment. The one catch to staying on Mabul is that they are now limiting the number of boats allowed to visit Sipidan. Each dive resort in the area gets an allocation of visits per day. This is good for the reef, but it might mean that you can't dive Sipidan every day if you stay on one of the Mabul resorts, especially during high season. The diving around Mabul is beautiful too, especially the Macro stuff, although you won't see the big Pelagics that you get aroun Sipidan.
