Join Marty Snyderman & Bonnie Pelnar Aboard Solmar V on a Photo Excursion to the Sea of Cortez!

Posted ImagePosted Image

SOLMAR V is proud to bring back professional photographer/cinematographer Marty Snyderman for a special photo excursion to the Sea of Cortez from October 16 through October 23, 2005. As an added bonus, photo pro Bonnie Pelnar will be joining Marty to lend her digital photo editing expertise.

What better place to learn from the pros while sharpening your photo or video skills than the Sea of Cortez, long known for an abundance of marine life and consistent big animal encounters

Marty will be presenting nightly slide shows and both Bonnie and Marty will be available to assist you with questions and tips about underwater photography and video throughout the trip. During the evenings Bonnie will also be giving up her secrets on how to use Adobe Photoshop to make your best shots of the day even better and will be demonstating the newest version, Photoshop CS2, highlighting the features that are especially useful for underwater photos. Bring your digital cameras and your laptops! AND both Marty and Bonnie are lots of fun to have onboard!

Photo Contest with Prizes!
Bonnie & Marty will conduct a photo contest for the best shots of the week with prizes including a Sea & Sea MX5 camera, Tusa fins and Tusa masks & snorkels as well as lots of recognition. As an added bonus, we will give away free subscriptions for the course of your choice to TheUnderwaterPhotographer.com.

I just spoke to Jose Luis from the Solmar V and there is one spot left on this trip. Its only a couple of weeks away, so if you can get away on the spur of the moment, give Jose Luis a call and I'll bet you could swing a great deal.

Good shots, especially the 'Best of Show'
It possible to see them in larger size?

Click-thru images have been added. Biggest I have time to do right now.

Many of the entries were from point & shoot cameras and some of the shooters were complete beginners. Pretty good results. One guy had never done UW photography before and borrowed the Sea & Sea DX8000. He came up with an empty tank and more than 150 images, many of them very good. The trip was really a lot of fun!

The 'Best Macro', is it a full frame (not cropped)? And did the shooter use a macro wet lens?
I ask because it’s the same model as my wife camera and from knowing these camera limitations its quit impressive shot.

Yes this is a full-frame, uncropped shot. He used a Canon Powershot S50 but I don't know if he had the macro attachment. The 14 Mb original is very crisp. He got a lot of other great shots with that camera too.
