For Germany's "Tauchen" and Hollands "Duiken" magazines, I have an
article in this months issues as part of their "top dive sites of the world" series.

The place I covered was the Maldives' "Madi Varu" Manta Point in South Ari Atol - a place where I've spent countless wondrous hours.

On a more touching note I was saddened to read the tribute to John Neuschwander, Duiken's editor in chief, who passed away recently - a great loss for the publishing and diving industry.

Nice mantas Steve...its fun to do little shorts about some of your fave dives isn't it? I did the same sort of thing for Asian DIver last year, not often that you get to send in only "the best" shots of a certain location is it?
can you read and write in German?? Or do they do a translation of your writing?

Thanks Mike....

I can understand and read German, and speak a little, but it's nowhere near good enough to write in. The staff in the office do the translation for me, so I submit pieces in English.

I hear Yap is pretty special for Manta's? One of the Tauchen guys, Paul Munzinger, got some beautiful shots out there last year.

How do you rate the diving there in general?
