My crop tool seems to have suddenly changed. It no longer tracks with the cursor and I have lost the ability to size the frame vertically or horizontally. I only have the small squares in the corners and not in the middle of the frames edges. I'm limited in my computer knowledge and dont know if I somehow changed the settings or not...

a couple quick suggestions:

In the top toolbar, you should see a few options relating to the Crop Tool when it is selected. To the right of these is a "CLEAR" button. Click on this to reset the crop tool to its default settings.

If this does not help, in the Menu selections at the top of the screen, go to WINDOW/TOOL PRESETS. This will open up another small window. In the upper right corner is a small circle with a right facing arrow in it. Click on this to bring up a menu. In this menu, you will see RESET TOOL. Click on this option, and see if your problem is corrected.

In most cases, one of these options should take care of the problem. Also, make sure you had a layer selected when you were trying to use the tool, as it nothing will "work" if no layer is selected.

Hope this helps...
Richard
