How does one embed photos in a post (as opposed to attaching them and having them show up as thumbnails that people must click to enlarge)?

I've done several searches and can't find the answer, so thought I'd post the question, even though I'm sure it's so basic I'll feel like an idiot when I see the answer.
How does one embed photos in a post (as opposed to attaching them and having them show up as thumbnails that people must click to enlarge)?

When you click ADD REPLY there are several buttons on the top, font buttons and below that code buttons. http:// is to add a link, @ is to add an e-mail address, IMG is to add an image. Just click on IMG and paste the location (URL) of the image. If you want to add the code yourself, just do like this:
{img}http://www.dom.com/img.jpg{/img}
But replace the { } with [ ].

I tried using the IMG button, and pasted in URLs, but get the error message:
"Sorry, dynamic pages in the [IMG] tags are not allowed"
Any idea what that means?

It maybe that you are pasting the page address instead of the picture only. Make sure you are pasting the address of the picture (it should end with .jpg or .gif). Something like:

I pasted this from your site
Nice photo by the way. Just paste the url below:
http://www.seattleya.....best copy.jpg
When the window from the IMG button appears.
I hope this helps.

Thanks, Luiz (surprised me a little to see my own photo in your post!)!
I managed to get a few photos to embed like that (new thread - Komodo nudi's), but a few still wouldn't "take" - perhaps the file names were too long or complicated. Anyway, I now understand the basic process. Thanks for taking time to help me!
