You search a good picture with a good contrast, .... Just one advice:
Reduce the distance between lens and subject.
An exemple with the 15mm at 22 cm in the swimming pool for checking:

or at the same page the "elephant octopus" or the "assistance".
Don't take a picture at 3, 4 m. Wait and approach at 50 cm or 1m , the minimum distance of your lens.
