3 mil wet suit 55 degree water? monterey ca

01 April 2008 - 04:59 PM

Hi,

I'm diving in cool water for the first time 55 degrees. I'm only doing two shore dives in the kelp. I have a 3mil full suit, gloves and plan to get a hood. Do you think that will be warm enough? I can dive in 83 degree water with just swim trunks for one hour and not get cold. Also does anyone have shooting advice for kelp/cold water?

Thanks

Robert

aquatica superdome on ikelite housing

14 December 2007 - 10:30 PM

I have an aquatica made 8" dome for my ikelite housing. I was wondering if my port body will fit the superdome. If anyone has the superdome can you measure the back opening of the dome body (the threaded part where the port body attaches to the dome)??? Just thought it would be cool to have mineral glass on an ikelite housing!

thanks

Which Stobe to get to complement my DS-200??

30 November 2007 - 09:45 PM

At last I have a DS200 :) I don't mind the extra wight. I have traveled with the SS200 and it wasn't that bad. My question is for a second strobe should I get a DS125. I'm thinking I want to get the DS125 for the lighting ratio to be a little different. I am new to the ttl option on my 5d housing. When using dual ikelite strobes in ttl mode is it possible to have one strobe fire with a lower power setting? Or will the ttl takeover and fire the strobes at the same power even though you may be using a ds200 and a ds125. For example if your ds200 is putting out 1/4 power would your ds125 fire at 1/2 power in ttl mode to compensate?

Any advice/example photos would be greatly appriciated.

thanks

aquatica made ikelite 8" dome and new port extensions

I doubt it but I'll ask anyway. Does anyone know if the early Ikelite 5510.80 dome (made by aquatica) is compatible with the current model dome port extensions???
