In Topic: Nice camera with mount for Inon lens?

Inon has a chart on their website that tells you which lenses fit with which cameras.

It may not be complete, but it should help.

I looked closely at the FLIP, Kodak ZX1, and JVC, but ended up going in a different direction. I just ordered a Panasonic TS1. It has image stabilization and an optical zoom- something missing in the FLIP. Images on the others didn't look as good to me in person, so I crossed them off of my list. I bought the housing to go with it and plan on adding a wide angle lens to it before ice diving starts around here. The whole unit is so tiny I can mount it on top of my Hawaiian sling without any issues. I would consider adding a ligth to it, but it would have to be small- since I'm diving tank free these days.

I almost bought the FLIP Ultra HD for the same reason, but after searching around I ended up ordering the new Panasonic TS1.

I also ordered the underwater housing that goes with it and after the holidays I'll end up buying the Inon wide angle lens and adapter to go with it. I wanted a small camera, for freediving and spearfishing, but also wanted decent video. I looked at the S90, but the lack of HD video was the only thing that kept me from buying it. The G11 is too large, and had no HD video either.

One main point that steered me away from the FLIP, and to the TS1, was it's lack of image stabilization. The lens on the Panasonic is better and it has a small (4x optical) zoom lens- where the FLIP has none. I used to own a TZ5 and got decent HD video out of that, but this is a much smaller unit which means it will be easier to carry- and mount on my Hawaiian Sling.

How does the video quality of the FLIP compare to the HD video I have on my Panasonic TZ-5- or their new one, the ZS3??

This video camera has certainly piqued my interest. It's so small one could easily freedive with it and the wide angle lens can be moved from camera to camera- as long as you stay with Ikelite.

The question I have is that Ikelite makes the housing in three different versions. They have one for the FLIP Ultra HD http://ikelite.com/w...flip_ultra.html , one for the JVC Picsio GC-FM1 http://ikelite.com/w...wo/jvc_fm1.html , and one for the Kodak Zx1 http://ikelite.com/w.../kodak_zx1.html . All three seem to have their own pluses and minuses, but what seems to be the general consensus on which one is best?
