Hi everyone,
I like to vote on picture of the week to keep up my CAPA training for photo judging, which is rusty. I have a hard time voting for photos that have large names plastered on them. Ironically, this is usually by well known contributors on the site. I understand the concern for copyright infringement totally. Is there some way to watermark without an obvious connection to the individual's identity? I have never entered this contest, so nothing to do with valid competition, but it actually prevents me from voting for good images when I see a name so obviously branded across an image. Can a rule be put in place to prevent the obvious identity of the competitor? It just seems like a fairer way of doing things.
Cheers,
Marli

About Me
Based in New Westminster, Canada, near Vancouver. Certified in 1994, I took up underwater photography while volunteering on a CEDAM International Conservation Project in Akumal, Mexico. My photos and articles have been published in a number of dive, travel, and natural history magazines, and my images can be found in texts and references for marine biology and science. Scuba Diving, Sport Diver, FiNs Magazine, Tauchen, Canada's Diver, Caribbean Travel and Life, Ritz-Carleton Magazine, Blue Planet Quarterly and Natural History are some of the publications that have published my work. I am represented by several stock agencies that market my work world wide. Based in New Westminster, Canada. My favorite destination is Indonesia, and my favorite subjects are nudibranchs, seahorses, tiny blennies and turtles. I shoot Nikon equipment in an all Canadian Aquatica Housing.

Where to go for 10 days in March 2013?
07 October 2012 - 08:08 PM
I have two weeks off in March, 2013. Been a lot of places, and I am seeking something new. Love super-macro, but appreciate wide angle opportunities, but big stuff is not my priority. Probably traveling solo, so huge single supplements are not appealing. Liveaboards are not desirable, as I am done with them for a while. (Man, I am picky, but somewhat claustrophobic). I am looking for relaxed diving with amenities and good guiding, and not in the Caribbean. Bali and Lembeh have been done numerous times...looking for a different opportunity. Any suggestions out there for someone based on the west coast of Canada??? Contacts appreciated.
Cheers,
Marli
