Shark Diving in Southern California

28 May 2014 - 08:33 AM

Spent Memorial Day out on the ocean with Bluewater Photo  aboard the Sea Watch shark diving. We had some very nice interactions with blue sharks and some makos. Overall a great day. Here are a couple pics from the day:

Underwater shoot of local swim team

28 April 2014 - 09:39 PM

This is not scuba related but still underwater photography related:

I recently had seen post on SI with underwater pics of swimmers. I was inspired by this to try and do something similar. I have a working relationship with one of the local community college SIDs. I contact him about this and he was really excited to do this. So this last Saturday, I shot underwater pictures of the Golden West College men's and women's swim team underwater. Here are some of the pictures:

Oil Rigs 03/22/14

23 March 2014 - 02:17 PM

Dove the oil rigs off of Huntington Beach on Saturday with the South Orange County Dive Club. We had a good time considering how bad the viz was on the rigs. Usually you have blue water out on the rigs but the water was green yuck. Here are some pics from the day:

R2D2 on the Fujikawa Maru

09 March 2014 - 09:59 PM

Just recently got from a trip to Truk Lagoon. Truk Lagoon is the site of really an uknown battle called Operation Hailstone. This was basically our version of Pearl Harbor against the Japanese Fleet. I was there during the 70th anniversity of the battle. Here is a link to the history regarding the battle:

This picture is from the Fujikawa Maru. By those that have been there before this air compressor is referred to as R2D2.

Not all the guides will take someone to this area. The superstructure on this wreck is failing. It has been in the water now for 70 years.

Hope all enjoy this pic as much as I do.
