Dove the oil rigs off of Huntington Beach on Saturday with the South Orange County Dive Club. We had a good time considering how bad the viz was on the rigs. Usually you have blue water out on the rigs but the water was green yuck. Here are some pics from the day:
Just recently got from a trip to Truk Lagoon. Truk Lagoon is the site of really an uknown battle called Operation Hailstone. This was basically our version of Pearl Harbor against the Japanese Fleet. I was there during the 70th anniversity of the battle. Here is a link to the history regarding the battle:
One thing I always have issues with or trouble with is having to much backscatter in my pics when shooting WA. I am here in southern Californnia and WA is very difficult to shoot here due to the high amount of particulate in the water. Can anyone give me suggestions in how I can reduce the backscatter? I know I should put my strobe on a low setting. What else can I do?
Went out to Farnsworth Banks this weekend on the Magician. Farnsworth is always a treat to go to. The diving can be tougher but you are awarded with the beautiful purple hydocoral that is there. Here are pictures from the trip:
