Bali Bobbit Worms ?

23 August 2008 - 03:09 AM

I will return to Bali in two weeks (my sixth time over there).

I have never dived Secret Bay, but one of my all-time-dream photo subjects would be the Bobbit worm.
Now I`ve read on the `net that there are some dive outfits that know how to get to them on a night dive in the (not so) Secret Bay.

Has anyone around here ever done that ? If so with which dive shop/dive guide ?

Olympus Wide Angle ?

14 January 2008 - 03:11 AM

I have been using an E-400 under water for about a year now.

The 14-42 lens was a good starter and during my last vacation in Egypt I used the 50mm with INON wet lenses for more Macro when needed.

So far I`ve been having a blast with the setup.

But I am interested in getting a wide angle setup for 2008.

1. The 7-14 is said to be a great lense, but it is (obviously) pretty expensive and Helge Suess said that he believes the 8mm fish eye is better suited UW

2. The 8mm fisheye would be the cheaper solution, but I am not too fond of fish eye pics on the surface which would probably limit what I`d do with the lens.

3. Phil Rudin hinted that a cheaper wide angle lens is due to be released in 2008. Does anyone know more ?

As the whole wide angle setup will be quite an investment (2nd strobe, dome port, lens) I`d be happy about any help here. :ninja:
