Agency vs agency

Hi all,

is there anyone out there who is a contributor to the major agencies, for instance Getty and Ocean Footage?

One thing I've noticed between the two are the commission rates. Ocean Footage at 50% Getty at 30% for RM.

I know OF charges for set up where as Getty doesn't.

What I'm wondering is,  do people get more sales from Getty that justifies the lower rates? I don't want to sign away decent footage if it's exclusive and gets tied up with them but doesn't get sold.

Found this happening the other day: It's a bit early for them to be doing this, (should be Jan and Feb) but doing it they were, 2 days after Bopha had gone through, which is why the viz at times is so bad. This is a quick edit to a song by Pearl Jam I had going through my head as I was filming. As an indication, the long wide shot at 2:34 has approx 1800 to 2000 Moorish Idols in it. Just about every surgeon/unicornfish in the local area must have been there along with the Pacific Longnose Parrotfish (Hipposcarus longiceps) too but they stayed very deep.Enjoy.Richard

Battery charging from photovoltaics

Hi,
I'm looking for recommendations on Photovoltaics to charge my camera batteries whilst out on extended shoots. I would prefer this method over a genny. Realistic charge times are obviously a must. Basically looking for a panel system with regulator and a cable system that is swappable between various chargers.
Any feedback is much appreciated.

So, when is someone going to get their hands on one and do a review?
When will the after market filters be available? Will the existing ones fit the new housings?
What is the bit rate available? 3D package options etc.
Please Wetpixel satisfy my surprising need for answers.
Alternatively ship one to me and I'll do a review...
