I used this housing as a backup to my main housing. It was infrequently used and is in perfect working condition. It includes the stock Sea and Sea shoes and comes with an EO bulkhead. The bulkhead is where you connect an underwater flash unit to the housing.
The EO bulkhead is for use with strobes that use EO sync cords. Most underwater flash units will allow EO cables to be used on them, but you need to have the cables made by someone who knows what he is doing. I have Ikelite Substrobe 200 underwater flash units that work with EO cables in case you need strobes. If you are using EO cords, then you have to shoot your flash units in manual mode. I’ve never found this to be a problem, especially with digital, as you simply adjust the power settings on your strobes or move them back or forth to get the amount of flash lighting that you need.
If you wish this housing to be converted back to the standard Nikonos V bulkheads, this can be easily done by an underwater technician. I recommend Ryan Canon at Reef Photo to do this; I will pick up the cost to have this housing put back to the original state of Nikonos V bulkheads or work with you to have whatever bulkheads you would like. If you would like anything other than Nikonos or the existing EO bulkheads, any conversion will be at your cost. If you want the existing EO bulkhead or Nikonos V bulkheads, I will pick up the cost.
I also have an Inon 90-degree viewfinder that I can sell with this housing. I have one of these viewfinders on another Sea and Sea D200 housing, and I am very happy with it.
Included with the housing is a bracket made by Pacific Camera Repair that allows this housing to be mounted on a tripod. The Really Right Stuff plate is not included. Basically, the bracket adds a 1/4” screw hole to the bottom of the housing.
