In Topic: looking for a videography course or motivated instructor in Egypt

Red Sea Diving Safaris have a course at their Marsa Shagra Village, close to Marsa Alam (I've been there twice and am going back in October, it's a wonderful place) during the late summer or autumn, I can't remember exactly. The Course Director is a well known videographer (can't remember his name). Unfortunately their website is down but they expect it to be up and running again in a few days. Meanwhile, you can e-mail them at info@redsea-divingsafari.com for information.

Backscatter sent a few lights to be tested by Deepsea, and published a comparison test.  It is possible to test but the point is whether it makes economic sense.  Perhaps if we had sponsors to fund such tests.  It isn't the most accurate test since it's still in air vs water.

With respect, Drew, the test is hardly relevant to this thread since the Light-for-me 3XML is not included.

Can you control the brightness?

No, just one output.

This is the port with the knob for manual focus. A new one costs £170 (approx 260 US dollars) from Cameras underwater, so I think $70 is a very fair price.
