Red Sea Diving Safaris have a course at their Marsa Shagra Village, close to Marsa Alam (I've been there twice and am going back in October, it's a wonderful place) during the late summer or autumn, I can't remember exactly. The Course Director is a well known videographer (can't remember his name). Unfortunately their website is down but they expect it to be up and running again in a few days. I second Erik's suggestion. The Sigma 10-20mm is a very useful compromise both on land and underwater. You may be able to find a good used one. I did and it cost me less than $250 plus shipping.
