How do I keep the water from gathering on my lens port, I do not want to just start trying stuff, being afraid of ruining the housing. I seem to ket water droplets right in the wrong places.... Any suggestions???
I Mostly shoot underwater and have played with 1/2 in 1/2 out shots but would love to try my hand at some surf stuff but my experience so far has not been real good Here is a shot of land from the ocean and you can see the spots I am talking about.....
sounds funny but all you gotta do is like your port... before i get in i spit on it like you would a dive mask, rub it in... wet it with ocean water and then lick it... then every so often lick it again a few times... this is not a joke
Ideally I will find a housing I can use in the surf, kayaking, on the jet skis, sailing and snorkeling. From what I have read, the dive housings are most reliable under pressure and the surf housings are more what I'm looking for. I'll check out SPL. Any other recommendations would be great. Thanks
Sounds like you are looking for an SPL honestly. i have took mine down to 25 feet deep and it has also been in 15 foot surf too. good luck
i know alot of people who have had numerous problems with aquatech. a good friend of mine has sent his in 3 times because of leaks. not saying they are bad but there are known problems. if you want a dive or snorkle housing look at the dive housing manufacturers if you want a surf housing buy a SPL. good luck.
Okay I have to asked....after the shot do you get supremely pummelled by the wave? I've always wondered about that with those huge wave tunnels and a big camera...just sounds like a recipe for disaster.
sometimes... i have spent some time in the hospital with a back injury and im only 29 years old... not fun but to get the shot sometimes you have to make alittle sacrifice. Mahalos for all the comments guys! Aloha, JT
