Misool Eco Resort - Cherry

Thank you very very much to all of you who contributed to our Misool Ranger Project. We raised over 3000 Euros (and nearly half of that in the last 3 days of the raffle!), which is enough to get our own Ranger Patrol boat built. Congratulations to Patrik Nilsson of Solna, Sweden! He is the lucky winner of a free holiday at Misool Eco Resort.

We have rasied another 4000 Euros through donations so we are well on our way to paying for the engines, fuel and running costs. The fibre glassing of our Misool Conservation Centre flagship started last week, and we are hoping that she will be launched next month, and that this signifies a safer future for the reefs of SE Misool.

Absolutely right. The advantage of a land based resort is you can shoot one particular site/area til you are blue in the face for XX days. Misool Eco Resort and Kri/Sorido allow for that on some fantastic sites. Robert, you'll remember last year when I was very happy to sit on a particular site for 3 days but was usurped into moving on while on that liveaboard. That is the magic of R4(Robert, you are so OC for trying to correct ampat to empat, when you should know those damn colonialists couldn't bother to learn to read/write bahasa way back when ,) the biodiversity of the area.


Now he gets it...  Papua Barat has airborne gonorrhea bacteria and herpes viruses. Please stay away.(And that especially includes you mining operators)     

Hey Drew... I built my house there dude!!!! Better find the antidote to the plagues!!!!! Probably the only way to stay safe is to stay wet and blowing bubbles...

Hi there Shawn.... Thanks for the post. The visitors to the Misool Eco Resort website have so far donated over $2000 . We have ordered the patrol boat and hope that it will be in action in the coming months. The MER team have been busy recently as this season is when the Shark fishermen target the waters of Raja Ampat, but we believe there have been none within the no take zone this season!

It is not too late to donate and aid the cause, not to mention winning a holiday at the resort the draw will be on the first of August.
