#360410 How important is underwater tripod?

Posted by fxvideo on 23 April 2015 - 05:06 AM

If you are a bit handy, this is what I have made myself. The bracket with the handles on it is part of my Gates video housing. The rest is DIY. A old tripod an some spare time.

#351272 Amphibico PD150 and new HD camera

Ante,

Everything is possible, I have done it with old VX1 Amphibico housing that now fits a Sony HC-1E HDV camera. There are a couple of thing you need to look out for. First, the new camera will need to fit into the housing and the lens has to be aligned with the lens of the housing.Second, the LANC protocol of your old housing has to work with the LANC of your new camera. Over the years the Sony LANC protocol has changed so you will have to confirm that. For my camera I had to instal a new LANC controller and use only the button functions of the housing to control this controller. Your mechanical buttons will probably won't work with your new camera, if there are any.

Good luck
