Subal Housing for Nikon D2x with a couple of ports and accessories FS

09 September 2012 - 07:54 AM

Having upgraded to a D800 have my old housing with a few bits to sell:
Subal ND2 (fair few scratches on the paint etc but watertight and last had a full service around 18 months ago)
GS180 (slight scratch means you cant clearly see shutter speed through the viewfinder rest of image is fine)
3x sea and seas strobe cables 1 unused
33mm Extension ring
50mm Extention ring (unused
DP84 dome port -(scratched but doesnt show up in shots) works for tokina 10-17 +1.4x teleconverter
Flat port (longish one) works for 60+1.4 old style 104 or sigma 150macro
Zoom rings for tok 10-17, sigma 17-70, tok 11-16 and nikon 12-24 (i think)
Spare o rings for housing
Spare port orings
selection of port caps (about 4 or 5)
its all in the uk but would be willing to ship wherever at (insured) cost
Sensible offers?

sigma 12-24 mk2 on ff - first impressions

18 July 2012 - 09:55 AM

just had the chance to jump in the water (pool) with my new 12-24 on a ff and just wanted to share a few first impressions. (all shot at the 12mm end - havent got a zoom gear to fit as yet)  basically performance underwater seems to be pretty similar to above - pretty good center from5-6 up, corners aree horrible at 5.6 and stay get better up to f 11 but are never great.
weighed against that is a zoom thats relatively inexpensive ando offers 122- 84degree angle on ff. only thing that comes close to angle of view and range is the nikon 14-24 and is a) a different league of lens b) less wide, and c) as far i know still doesnt offer great corners!
anyway i'll stop rabbiting on - but im pretty please with it! few sample images

Sigma 12-24?

18 June 2012 - 01:10 PM

Right, so having decided to sell my left kidney have just ordered a d800 and a sigma 12-24. As a kind of i've already jumped and bought it but i'll ask anyway does anyone have any experience with the new (well mkii) 12-24 on full frame behind a dome? Figured wider (and much cheaper) than the nik 14-24 cant be a bad thing and its mostly gonna be stopped down to f8/11 anyway
