In Topic: Oly pen body and a nikonos lenses...

Thanks for posting - that's actually very intriguing. Sounds like they're just in the prototype stage, but hope to have one for hands-on at DEMA. One would have to set the lens aperture and focus manually but could use aperture-priority in the camera to set exposure, with EC settings even as adjustments. EP1 'slower' focus than the Panasonic therefore doesn't matter...but in-body IS becomes a significant advantage.

Looks like the housing CAD mockup pictures include a bump for the EP1 hotshoe-mount flash for optical syncing, with twin ports for FO cabling. All in all, pretty impressive concept. Not sure how much I'd like having to manual focus all the time, but if the Nikonos lens optics are that much better than domed lenses, that's a clear tradeoff someone with the appropriate skill level (ahem, so perhaps not me?? :) ) would be able to make.

Might try and see if I can check it out at DEMA, if I'm able.

If you manage to see it please poste some shots :)

the test you did sounds like it is supposed to work. You could also try pointing it away from the lens and directly towards the lens : the last one should give only a very small bit of light. You should be able to see the difference...

Thanks i'll have a try !

Morris units are getting very old. Before buying you want to check whether it can be repaired/serviced - I doubt it and even if it can I'd suspect it wouldn't be economic. The capacitors will probably have lost some capacity which might affect output.

I looks in perfect working order, i'll check the capacitors in case i can change them i should not be big deal with some soldering skills.

What are the strobes nikon and not nikon that will meeter properly with the V ?

At the end i've found a Morris TTL unit for the Nikons, it looks ok, 100 with spare or , 15mm diffuser and arm.
Anybody ever work with this unit ?
