White Sea ice diving

03 April 2018 - 01:21 AM

Heres a video from my recent trip to Russia.

The 10bit colors from the gh5 paid off. The colors of the light shining through the ice are awesome on my new 10bit video editing monitor.
But my favourite is the sea butterfly shot.

Nudibranch behaviour

19 March 2018 - 04:10 AM

Shot on a dive spot in Bali last year.
A mass aggregation of Sea hare attracted Gymnodoris ceylonica. A real filled table for ceylonica.

Maldives on the GH5

02 March 2018 - 04:38 AM

to illustrate the GH5 performance again, some of you might be interested.

recorded in Cine-D, mWB on a grey card, focus locked, color grading in Premiere Pro, the most shots are with the Pana 7-14, a few with Oly 12-50 lense.

In the shot with the schooling sweetlips you can see the blurred edges due the small aperture i used.

With my new optical dive mask i can prevent this in the future. :)

Kind regards, Alex.

Dive and See DNC-5A(H1) Monitor clip playback

03 December 2017 - 12:31 AM

a question for all DNC-5A(H1) users.

Do i have a clip playback on this "HDMI output only" monitor?

If not, i got the wrong monitor or do i have to change settings?
I went through the cams and monitors set up without getting a playback.

Bali with GH5

27 November 2017 - 01:55 AM

i want to share my recent video from Bali with you.

It was the first time in the water with the GH5. I shot with mWB in CineD, with only 1080p 8bit, with Pana 7-14, Athena Dome and Oly 12-50 with my old Macro Mate.

For the beginning  I shot with this resolution because i don´t wanted  to render 400+ clips into proxy files.

All was shot in MF mode, or Locked Focus for the WA, The Tambia nudibranch was in Autofocus AFS.

I like the WA shots (taken at 10 to 16 meter), i´m not fully satisfied with the macro sharpness. I don´t know if it´s just the lense set up or the circumstance i shot with 10f or  max 14f. The Oly isn´t the best lense in sharpness too, unfortunately. I have to figure this out on the next trip.

I had no monitor on my set up. What a pain!

Let me know what you think!
