I also did a few tests:

In this first one the video camera is a similar crop to a 7D.

The images in this comparison were on a 5Dmk3 with a 1.4 so you can get a similar crop on your 7D:  http://nad-lembeh.co...-vs-mpe-65.html

Tomorrow i'm hoping to get the TC on the crop for crazy macro :)

Wauwwww. this is great stuff Simon!

In Topic: Sea & Sea MDX-D600 - problems

23 April 2014 - 10:32 PM

I've some problems with the push button on the back of my S&S MDX D300, but only using the Sigma 8-16. For this lens I use a zoom ring modified to fit the body lens, so the problem is link to the particular configuration. But I recognized that S&S have a very very little tolerance in the camera position inside the housing.

Have you removed the plastic rear display cover from the camera body, and the rubber eyepiece too?

This is very important to make a correct "accommodation"  of the camera inside the housing.

I agree with the latter part " Have you removed the plastic rear display cover from the camera body, and the rubber eyepiece too". I never had any issue with my S&S housing but from the beginning i removed the plastic cover and the eye-piece.

In Topic: acrylic vs. glass domes

I have always been using the acrylic Fisheye Dome Port 240. Underwater i can't see any problem, however when taking split level shots all the small scratches become VERY visible.

So, if you are a fan of split level shots...you might reconsider.

In Topic: South Africa white shark cage diving?

12 January 2014 - 05:04 AM

Hi David,

I went a couple of times with shark diving unlimited.

They operate from Gansbaai. I would definitely recommend Gansbaai over Simonstown if the only thing that you want to see are Great whites.

Of you also want to dive (without a cage) with the sevengills, I think SImonstown is fantastic. In that case i would recommend shark explorers
