I think the Maui's are done for. 55 left in the wild.... very sad!

There's only one Drew left in the wild.
Please help us save them
It absolutely ashames me that a lot of NZ' can be fucked saving these beautiful animals.
It's a hard thing but you can't get defeatist about the whole thing.
We didn't spend thousands of dollars on equipment to portray beautiful underwater life to friends, family and the public for nothing did we? Did we go to university and study for years just to say, "Fuck it!"
Always live with passion in your soul and go hard for it. Otherwise what is the point?

In Topic: Diving the Galapagos on a budget

In order to reach Darwin and Wolf, where arguably the best diving in the Galapagos are, you need to be in a liveaboard. If you don't care about Darwin and Wolf, then the shore-based operators should be fine.

I care.
$4000 for a week after 10 and a half months away is too expensive.
What's the absolute cheapest liveaboard?

Hi guys
What's the best way to dive the Galapagos Islands on a budget?
All the liveaboards run like $4k for a trip and that's simply out of our range.
Cheers guys!

Maybe I found it.
Unfortunate that you don't go out cruising. All overnights in Puerto Ayora. Does anyone else want to have a look and tell me what they think?
Cheers!

In Topic: Anyone dove Coiba National Park in Panama?

24 March 2012 - 03:37 PM

I only managed one day in the marine park.
It was very busy. VERY busy. So that's part of the reason for only one day and then given our budgets are $35 a day while backpacking and the dives including the marine park entrance are $145...
Anyway, the diving was great. Three tanks - huge school of mobula rays, giant manta breaching, massive school of jacks twice and I got the first huge swim through of my life. White-tips everywhere. Large school of barracuda.
Dove Wahoo, Iglesia and Frijoles.
Great divemaster called Luca from Italy and we went with Scuba Coiba.
Unfortunately my darling girlfriend lost a pair of my AA strobe batteries and I'm not going to put those shitty batteries in there so no pictures.
Yes, visibility was ass but hey, that's the nutrients in the water. Well, the vis ABOVE the thermocline was bad haha Just put up with 18 degrees in a 3 mm and you'll be fine
NOT NOT NOT impressed with the shark finning evidence I saw so what can I do about that? Anyone want to help?
