Problem with the strobe/sand etc. how shall i try this the next time?

04 June 2010 - 12:14 AM

hello!

i have a problem with this picture. i am using a nikon d90 in the nauticam housing with one inon z240 strobe. the pictures was taken on the housereef. i'm new to photography and was wondering if you guys may tell me, how to take a nicer picture from this nice ribbon eel, as i can go there at anytime. my problem is the sandy surrounding, which makes everything look overexposured. on the backside of he eel is a coral block as well. and to make it worse, on the housereef is poor visibility with lot of floating stuff.

taken with iso 200 and f14 with 60/s. shall i take a fast shutterspeed to get the background darker? please help

hey everyone!
i'm new to the underwater photography (or actually to the DSLR photography in genereal) and took some pictures in the past 2 weeks, which i'd like to share with you. i would appreaciate criticism as it is the best way for me to improofe my pictures. i am using a nikno d90, nauticam housing and one inon z240. lens is 60mm macro or on some pics the 35mm.

store the housing in between the dives with a few days break?

03 June 2010 - 07:56 PM

hey folks!

i tryed the search but had no luck.

i'm using the nauticam housing for the nikon d90 with the inon z240 strobe and was wondering how to store everything in between the dives, when i have a few days break in between?

shall i keep the housing and everything after rinsing it with fresh water as it is in an airconditioned room? or is it better to remove the o rings and leave the housing open, or remove the o-rings and close the housing again? what about the port? better to keep in in the housing or separate?

sorry for beginners questions.

thanks in advance

regards
