Lightroom 5 help

29 May 2016 - 05:29 AM

At the beach with limited internet so can't search much.  Thought someone here could help me.

Processing raw files in LR 5, my granddaughter got hold of my laptop and now I've lost the adjustment settings on the righthand toolbar.  Normally these are for adjusting white balance:  sunny, cloudy, shade, flash, custom, etc.

Also lost exposure adjustment, contrast, highlight and shadow adjustments, clarity, saturation.

I've tried and can't seem to find these.

Right now I have histogram, toolbar showing crop, redeye, healing brush, etc., then tone curve, HSL color B&W, detail and a couple others.

Any ideas how to get these adjustments back to what I had before.

Thanks.

Removing handles from tray?

14 May 2016 - 06:34 AM

Just bought a used tray and wanted to move the handles to a position better for my hands.  Of course the stainless bolts are frozen to the aluminum tray.  Not unusual and what I kinda expected but what tips can I use to remove them without breaking the bolts?

I thought about putting it in boiling water then spraying with PB blaster, or putting in an oven about 200-250 F then spraying with PB.

Any other suggestions before my wife runs me out of the kitchen?

WTB housing for Olympus EM1

Looking for housing for my EM1.  Also ports, etc.

Anyone looking to sell?

Olympus TG-4?

14 April 2016 - 02:01 PM

Tried searching but didn't find anything.

Just got the ok from ENT doc and plan to start diving again.  Have a trip to Marathon, FL keys for month of September.

Last camera system was a 5D2 with Subal housing.  Would like to get back into UW photography but thinking of a compact system.  I have an Olympus OMD EM-1 but not planning to house that one.

Is anyone using a TG-4?

Not interested in video, only photos both macro and some wide angle.  Most of our dives are less than 50' so I might pick one up and use it without the housing for snorkeling and shallow dives.  Maybe get a housing and strobe later.

What about using a video light for macro shots?

Thanks.

OMD-EM1 using lcd screen or viewfinder?

31 July 2015 - 06:02 AM

For those of you who are using either of these Olympus, OMD-EM1 or EPL-*, I have a couple questions.  In the past I started with a Nik 5, then eventually up to a Subal with Canon 5D2.  Sold everything because of medical reasons but just cleared to start diving again.

I currently have an EM1 and am considering probably a Nauticam with 8mm FE and 60mm macro.  My other option would be a EPL-7 with the same lenses which would be a bit smaller system.

My question is since the EPL-* does not have a viewfinder and the EM1 does:  do you feel that the viewfinder is a necessity?  Or is the lcd screen good enough for composing and focus accuracy?

As I'm aging I find that I'm not as flexible as I once was especially in my neck so I'm thinking it may be easier to use the screen rather than the viewfinder.  But only if the screen is good enough.

Also is the focus speed on the EPL-* as fast as the EM1?

Thanks!
