I think it is great time to get a used D700 + housing and rest of kit that people sell with it now since upgrading to D800. I could bet you that you can find bodies with minimal number of clicks and minimal exposure to usage overall. And ... camera itself is I believe timeless and is a living legend. And 700 vs 7000 ... simple, how much money, that much value :-)

I think Nikon compared to Olympus could be a better investment in terms that you could probably get more when you decide to sell in the future. I could also guess the same for the lenses you would get with it. Not 100% sure, but just my 5 cents.

Hey Alex, per my understanding, the same TC is sold under different brands as Kenko, Tamron and Soligor? Can you maybe confirm that it is indeed same piece of hardware.

Does anyone knows what is the value of it?
Nikon seems to mention only this one fix: "An issue that, in some very rare cases, caused images to be extremely under-exposed has been resolved."
