Favorite dive-sites in New South Wales?

23 October 2014 - 03:39 PM

Hi everyone!

I will be heading to Sydney to visit family in January 2015 and would like to get a couple of dives in while I am there.

I don't mind driving around a bit as I have a full month time there.

So lets line them up, what are your favorite dive-sites in NSW and why?

I have a fair amount of experience, currents/rough conditions is no problem.

As usual your advice is much appreciated!

Lots of greetings from sunny Bali, Morten

Is selling stock images worth the trouble?

27 May 2014 - 03:18 AM

Hi everyone!

By now I have quite a few nice underwater pictures lying around on my hard-drives and I was wondering if anyone out there actually manage to earn any money on pages such as shutterstock.com etc? Or is it simply more trouble than its worth?

Any advice would be most appreciated! :)

Best regards, Morten

Diving in Bali, Indonesia

18 March 2014 - 10:58 AM

Hi all,

A short 5min video about diving in Kubu, Amed, Tulamben and Nusa Penida.

www.vimeo.com/89384150

I hope you will enjoy it, I am especially happy about the pygmy seahorse shot at 1:45, took me quite a few dives to get those few seconds! :)

All the best, Morten

Experiences with the Apeks WTX-D18 wing?

24 February 2014 - 03:08 AM

Hi gang!

I am looking at exchanging my good old 32lb OMS wing for something smaller and more streamlined.

I have been looking at the 18lb travelwing from Apeks, does anyone have any experience with it and do you know if it will fit the standard aluminum OMS plate?

Or do you have any other recommendations for a wing which is smaller than 20lb?

As always your help is much appreciated! :)

Lens choice for Maldivian current diving

07 November 2013 - 04:32 AM

Hi all wetpixelers!

I am going to go on my first ever trip to the Maldives (liveaboard heading down deep south), the name of the game is sharks and currents.

The thing I am wondering is which lenses to use on strong current channel dives with sharks/eagle rays etc?

I would like to use my Tokina10-17 behind my minidome but I am worried it might be too wide?

Also, does it make sense to bring strobes on those dives, we will be going +40m so on one hand it would be nice, if the animals do not come that close then I will leave the strobes on the boat as I want to minimize my drag in the current.

For those of you who have done this type of diving any other photographic advice would be much appreciated as well!

I use a canon 7D (1.6 sensor)

Best regards, Morten
