My camera came like this direct from Olympus - I've never been able to update it.

I can't believe it is a computer memory issue - I have a fair bit on my machines.

When you connect the usb cable to the E-M5 and see the "storage" option on the camera screen you must click "ok" on the camera for it to go into that mode. Then the updater software should discover the camera and find the latest firmware updates from Internet.
