Here is what Reef has to say about the Zeiss 12mm - "It is the sharpest super wide rectilinear lens behind a dome port we have ever tested on any format. Corner sharpness here outperforms the best Nikon and Canon glass on professional full frame bodies at equivalent coverage angles. It also compares favorably to the best APS-C DSLR cameras, and the best that the Olympus / Panasonic Micro Four Thirds system has to offer."

They make this lens in Fuji mount as well and the price has dropped considerably. I have been shooting an X T1 and X Pro1 for 90 percent of my daily photojournalism work and love them.

The autofocus of the X T1 is really quite good. Is it Canon good? No. But it's good. I've not shot it underwater and have no plans to. But I think the autofocus would be just fine for wide angle work, not sure about macro. Maybe, maybe not.

The file quality is great and will match my 5D MKIII up to about ISO 2,500 IMO.
It's a great camera but I'd have to see how well it works in a housing. And since I shoot strictly wide angle as nice as the Zeiss is it is still not wide enough for my needs.

thanks for the review, I'm searching for my next setup and Fuji is really producing some great cameras I just have concerns about the autofocus being fast enough for fish, macro, and even quick larger animals.  The lens selection isn't perfect either but i'm sure what is out would suffice.

Basically looking for anything to reduce the size/weight of my rig =)

Nauticam's owner Edward Lai used the camera in Taiwan, and he had lots of positive things to say about color and resolving power.  His feedback is valuable, as I don't know many people that have used more, different cameras underwater.

is his review online anywhere? would love to read it

the auto focus was fairly slow... it has been improved recently but still no reviews.
