Diving on the Red Sea Aggressor

11 September 2015 - 07:58 AM

Here are a few of the better pics from my recent liveaboard trip on the Red Sea Aggressor.  I learned a LOT as I practiced, and I can't wait for the next trip, so that I can learn even more!

I would love it if someone could tell me what this fish is.  I assume it is some type of triggerfish??

LX100 - Underwater video shot on the Red Sea

23 August 2015 - 06:49 PM

Hi Friends

I just returned from my dive trip on the Red Sea in Egypt.  I have not yet edited all the photos, but I did pull together a short video of the diving.  Feedback always appreciated, here is the YouTube link (can't figure out how to do an embed):

Many thanks,

I am offering for sale my Nauticam Housing & Dome Port for a Sony NEX-5R/T Camera.  The housing and dome is only lightly used (less than 50 dives), never flooded, and in mint condition -- no visible scratches  (I take very good care of my equipment).  This housing / dome port combination retails new for $1945.  I am offering this housing / dome port set for $1350.

I am also offering my Sony NEX-5R camera along with the 16mm wide angle (pancake lens), the extra wide conversion lens, and the Fisheye conversion lens (attached to the pancake lens in the picture below).  This set is offered for an additional $250 (or $1600 for the entire housing / dome port / camera & lenses set).

Please contact me by email if you are interested -- my address is metrodcbasil@me.com

LX100 Underwater Video - Anyone else have experience with the LX100

15 March 2015 - 01:41 PM

I am mulling over the LX100 to replace my current Sony NEX-5R for underwater photography and videography -- I find I am more interested in video when I dive, than in still photos (although I do both).  I found this video, recently posted, and it looked pretty nice -- seems to have good detail, although the white balance is off in places (in my experience, a Magic Filter works wonders for U/W video).  Here is the link:

Does anyone else have experience with this camera underwater?  How does it handle? How is the video?
