Olympus Pen cameras and housings

05 March 2013 - 11:26 AM

Hello All,

I am considering purchasing an Olympus system, I amlooking at the EPM1 camera and the associated housing PT-EP06. From what I can gather researching on the internet this housing will allow for the olympus 60mm lens and also has some external macro accessories that will work.

My question is because I can't see the camera/housing in action before i Buy can anyone explain how the shutter and aperture controls are set up when shooting in manual? From the picturesof the camera it looks as if there are no dials for it so is it a push button through the menu? And is it very time consuming when you are underwater?

Thanks for the help!

Advice on housing for Canon 2ti

22 January 2013 - 06:00 PM

I'm looking for a housing for the Canon 2Ti, have looked at aquatica and sea and sea housings but there isn't much info on the controls. Does anyone have experience with these or other housings? I would consider an ikelite houing but not too impressed with the one I have now. I am mainly interested in how the shutter and aperture are controlled through the housing as it takes a combination of buttons to change them when using the camera normally.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 camera with Ikelite housing

04 January 2013 - 06:18 PM

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 camera in an ikelite housing and double handed tray, includes red filter, two batteries, charger and has about 100 dives. I'm selling because I want to upgrade to an SLR.
Purchase price - $1200 Selling price $600

The camera has some scratch marks on the wheel that is used to adjust the apeture and shutterspeed, its from using the button in the housing improperly when I first bought it. They are only superficial marks. The camera has a 24mm lens with aspect ratios (1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9) and manual/auto focus. The housing is soaked in warm water after every dive and has no corrosion on it or scratches on the lens.
The setup is good for both photo and video, I shoot in manual and find this camera to be especially good for macro and the video allows real time exposure control so you can adjust the exposure while you shoot.
