Maybe...It looked really good when I found it about 5-7 years ago, and with the new setup I intend to buy I would like to go practice somewhere similar.

I've never had this problem, but I would assume it is seized due to dust/dried salt in the gaps between the extension and housing. With most things that are seized in place, adding a tiny bit of WD40 help to create lubrication 95% of the time works.

I imagine as long as you gently fill the open port hole with cloth - say a tshirt etc (protect the inner workings), and spray the wd40 gently and sparsely around the outside of the extension/housing where it screws in, it should be ok....

I have never had this issue, not have I ever used WD40 on a housing, so maybe wait for some others to answer first.

Are you going to beat yourself up if you don't buy the D500? Are you always going to regret it?

If you answer that, then maybe you have the answer to your question?

I always said to myself I was going to buy the d300s replacement whether that be the d400 etc or as it is now the d500.

If I don't buy it, I will definitely always wonder "Would I have missed that Manta sun burst shot if I had 10fps...", "Would I have caught that kingfisher diving...".

I guess that truly answers my question hahaha. Thanks for that pearl of Wisdom Tim! :D

I'd be interested, but as it's new I'd be hit with import duty and then 20% tax on top so it's not really discounted anymore. :(

Buying items from the US isn't as great value as it once was due to customs and excise

I do like my d7200 and even though it's a great camera I cant help but think the D500 is worth the investment. The only reason I bought the d7200 was because I got tired of waiting for the d300s replacement haha. So, now that replacement has arrived i think I ought to buy it so I have a better chance of never missing those all important shots both above and below the water :)
