SE England/Essex photography training pool?

21 August 2017 - 05:55 AM

I once read about a swimming pool which was partly dedicated to divers being able to practice underwater photography. It had a rather large fake reef and other things in the water to photograph, but I can no longer find 1 piece of information on it.

I thought it was somewhere towards Essex.

Does anyone know the pool I am referring to OR any other training pool where I can take a new setup to get accustomed to?

Many thanks

Simon

FS: Nauticam/Sony RX100 MK1 setup

07 July 2017 - 12:46 PM

I have decided to sell my (nearly new) compact setup due to switching to dSLR underwater. The package has only been used for about 50 dives in total.

The package is in MINT condition(I have all the boxes still) and contains the following items. I would like around $1450, or £1200. Also open to sensible offers.

  • Sony Rx100 camera
  • Nauticam RX100 housing
  • Flexitray left + right handles
  • UWL-04 fisheye lens (amazing lens and does the same job as the WWL-1 on this model of camera)
  • Dyron Macro lens

I can also add in a subsee+10 for £150 or $180

If someone takes it all, I will throw in 2 S&S fibre optic cables that I now will no longer need(£100 value) for free!

The actual system is currently in self storage so I have included photos from the manufacturer below. I will try and get actual photos this weekend.

Will ship anywhere in world, with full insurance. :)

Thanks

Simon

House d7200 or reinvest in rx100 MK V?

26 June 2017 - 01:28 PM

Not sure if this is the right place but I wanted some views on what others would do in my situation.

I have a full nauticam rx100 MK1 setup including WA dome, 3 Macro Lenses as well strobes and arms. I also own a D7200 that I've wanted to house since forever.

So, I have a choice of spending £5500 on the d7200 housing, 180 viewfinder, tokina 10-17 and Zen glass minidome...OR...£3500 on the new rx100, housing and the wwl1 wet lens.

I only dive TWICE a year at most (liveaboards / resorts holidays) so its about value and getting the most out of the gear for the money.

The other deciding factor is I am going to Socorro in January so want this new rig for then...and to be fit for purpose.

What would you do or advise?

Thanks
Simon
