Looking for a fast wide angle lens for Nikon DX

24 October 2016 - 08:36 AM

i am looking for a fast DX wide angle lens.
Reason: shooting without strobe / lights, because not allowed, thresher sharks in Malapascua

Last year i used a Oly OMD5e with a 12mm f2 lens, but it was too dark for nice shoots. Look grainy Iso 640, f2,

For all the other types of underwater photography the OMD5e was fine, no question!

Next spring it will be a D500 ;-))
I own a Tokina 10 - 17mm, a Sigma 14mm f2,8 and a Sigma 18 - 35 f 1,8.
The Sigma zoom is fast, but not really wide enough, the Tokina is wide but not fast enough, the Sigma prime is somethere in the middle...

Are there any other lenses i have been missing, that are worth looking?

looking for a INON UFL-165AD Fisheye with broken / scratched frontlens

24 February 2016 - 11:47 PM

my girlfriend has last trip found out, that she loves that lens, but unfortunatly she dropped it,
and the back lens broke....
So i would look for one with a broken or scratched front lens, to complete ours.

Or if you wanna sell yours, in good shape as well ;-))

If you have on, please contact me.

Which port for Oly 12mm f 2,0 in Nauticam housing?

25 November 2015 - 01:26 PM

in the Nauticam lens chart is the small fe port recommended.
Has anybody tried a different combination?

Was not too happy with the corners....
Any ideas?

Malapascua & Hongkong airport camera shopping

31 October 2015 - 08:13 AM

will go to Cebu / Malapascua next february,
and wonder what lens to add...
Using a OMD 5 in a Nauticam housing, have the Pana 8mm but think about buying the new Oly 8mm...
Or  the 7 - 14mm.... Which one would be better for the trip? The 12 - 50mm and the 60mm i own as well.
We have a very short stop ( 2 hours ) on Hongkong airport, so my question is, makes it sense to buy a lens there?
Or are the shops as expensive as anythere?
Here in austria the lenses are very expensive, so it could make sense.

Thanks for your input,
