The metaliic papers look great.  LexJet has a Sunset metallic that is almost identical to the Kodak Endura Chrome that they had back in the chemical days.  If you do need a printer for larger prints, we house a 44" large format printer :)

Some fiber papers are great to (I'm a big fan of fiber papers).  I tend to go more with Satin than Gloss when you have prints that aren't going under glass, but satin is more of a personal preferance.

The only problem with the metallic papers is that they are:

1. VERY expensive

2. Expensive

3. Not durable at all.

The Sunset paper I had referred to:

Steve

I'm glad you enjoyed the info :)  For a gallery show, it's tough to say.  I'd really recommend something bright to really bring the blues out.  Do you plan on having the prints under glass?

Hello from sunny Sarasota FL!  I wanted to introduce myself.  I've been diving for about 20 years now and have more certifications than I know what to do with.  My wife and I shoot topside with a Canon 7D and we're saving to get it setup for UW shooting.  For the time being we have an old Canon G9 for the bubbly shots.

I'm a graphic designer by trade and own Royal Editions, a full service design firm / large format printing service provider.  I LOVE PRINTING!  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about what to do with your photos outside of the camera!
